Breathing Art - Adults

In this class we are channeling creativity through Spirit and the power of Breathwork™. To begin, Heidi will lead an initial creative Spirit discussion and then a Breathwork™ process introduction. The group then uses the Breathwork™ method as the key to unlocking the door to your higher self and full creative consciousness. After the Breathwork, each person creates their "Altered Art" free flow art piece. These pieces will be on display for a limited time at the art center. Students must bring everything they need for their art piece, keeping in mind art making time will be approximately one hour.

What is Breathwork™? Individuals lie down and surrender to their inner Shaman within, calling in guides, power animals and/or higher power. The Breathwork™ is opened with drumming which leads into very loud and powerful, Chakra opening musical journey lasting about one hour. As the individual uses the power of deep connected breathing to create a natural altered dreamlike state, the Ego defenses are released and the journey unfolds in a variety of ways. Each person’s journey is a highly individualized process and no two are ever the same. Some of the states of consciousness reported range from divine, otherworldly bliss states to the struggle to be released from negative forces in the psyche. The process uncovered in the Breathwork™ is the channel for creating the art in the Altered Art piece.

Students will be given a supply list prior to the class

Inspire Tags (Adults)

Inspire Tags were originally created by Lisa Kindle for the purpose of creating community and encouragement. When Art Soul Living was founded, the Inspire Tags were her inspiration and her mission to inspire the art within others. The Inspire Tag is something anyone can do. They are made to be a gift to yourself and others – intended to encourage, uplift, inspire and empower. Think positive affirmations!

Consider your time in class as a time to reflect and create something you feel inspired to make.

Lisa believes that art-making has many positive side-effects, including increased self-esteem, the nurturing of friendships, and connection with family and friends. It can stimulate the brain, communicication, and memories along with many other psychological and health benefits.

During this busy time of year, a tag could be made for the holidays as a gift or to put onto a present for someone special. Lisa recommends the MAKE ONE - GIVE ONE approach!

The instructor will have her “Jar of Inspiration” along with a wide variety of completed tags for inspiration and a wide assortment of art materials to use to create your tag. All material cost is included in the class fee.

Make Your Own Mandala (Adults)

Mandalas are a great tool for meditation and self-awareness because of the repetitive nature of the design. Many cultures around the world use mandalas in their spiritual practices. Drawing and coloring a mandala can be a highly enriching experience in which you look inside yourself to find that which represents anything from your current state of mind, your deepest desired wish for yourself to a loved one, or even humanity.

In this class, you will design your own mandala; you will have the freedom to choose whatever shapes and colors speak to you to express your sense of self, your reality. Your mandala is YOURS, no one else’s. You have the freedom to use your creativity to draw a mandala that is uniquely you.

Once you have learned the basic steps to construct a mandala, you can try all kinds of designs, patterns, colors each time you draw a new mandala.

The instructor will provide some design helps to get you started as well as have some examples for you to look at. All materials included in class fee.
