Adult Classes
- Contemporary Oil Painting (Ages 16 - Adult)
Artist: Christina Hankins
Learn to paint in oil while discovering a style of your own in a guided studio environment. This class will cover painting technique, composition, design and color relationships while encouraging self expression through various painting exercises.
Session 1 - Tuesdays, January 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Session 2 - Tuesdays, February 2nd, 9th from 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Cost: $175 (Materials will be purchased separately and a list will be provided)- Still Life Drawings (Ages 16 - Adult)

Learn drawing techniques and/or hone your drawing skills. Explore the importance of letting your materials do the work, your hands having their way and allowing your eyes to dictate their impressions using pencil, charcoal, conte crayons, and pastels. Please buy at least a number 2 pencil (or a few pencils of varying hardnesses: a 2H, HB and a 4B); a few sticks of vine charcoal and compressed charcoal; a kneadable eraser; conte crayons in sepia/bistre, sanguine, white, and black; a basic set of soft (not oil) pastels; paper (at least 20"x24") with a bit of texture is best. Pencils, eraser, and paper are necessary for the first class. (A minimum of 3 students)
Winter Session - Tuesdays, January 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Cost: $50- Soft Pastels and Impressionism (Ages 16 - Adult)

Learn the basics of soft pastels, the preferred medium of Degas! Students will discover the magnificence of color and color theory and have fun exploring different, usually messy, techniques for drawing with pastels. Come and create pastel sketches and paintings while learning the difference between the two! (A minimum of 3 students)
Winter Session - Thursdays, January 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Cost: $50 plus $20 supply fee (or you can bring your own)- Get Your Feet Wet in Oils (Ages 18 - Adult)

Want to try oil painting with no commitment and no noxious fumes? This is your class. Take an evening to test-drive oils; no supplies required! The instructor provides everything you need and guides you in creating a simple 8" x 10" painting (you can work from a landscape design she provides, or do your own thing). You'll learn the basics of oil painting without smelly solvents, and your painting will be dry to the touch in a day or two.

Drawing is the basis for almost all other visual art. If you'd like to develop basic skills or pick it up again after years away, this class is for you. You'll work from still-life objects and learn how to see proportions, light and shadow. Students are encouraged to bring objects of their own to draw, too! Cost: $80 (Materials are to be purchased separately; a list will be provided.)- Turn Your Photos into Paintings (Ages 18-Adults)
Artist: Tracie Thompson
Bring a photo you love, and learn to transform it into a painting. You'll learn how to bring out the best parts of the photo, improving on it as you create your work of art. Oil or acrylic painters are welcome; painting experience is helpful but beginners are welcome in this fun, friendly workshop. Tracie's oil painting method uses no turpentine or mineral spirits, so this is a safe class for those sensitive to solvents. Oil painters have the option of buying supplies from the instructor for an additional $40, which includes the cost of a canvas up to 16" x 20."Session 1 - Saturday, January 30th from 10:30am - 4:30pm

Art Classes for Kids
- Mom, Dad or Nanny and ME Get Your Hands Dirty Art Class (Ages 2-5 years old)

Come explore different art materials while having fun making art with your child and leave the mess with us. Each week will consist of a very basic introduction to a famous artist and a fun, get your hands dirty, fine arts project. Materials are included. Please dress for a mess and paint shirts will be provided. (Limit 8 students)

Art Classes for Homeschoolers
- Creative Expression through Art History (Ages 6-13 years old)

Come explore the world of art through the eyes of famous artists. Each week I will begin the class with an art history lesson, followed by a fine arts project. The artists we will learn about are Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Henri Matisse and Frida Kahlo. Paint shirts will be provided but PLEASE dress for a mess. Materials are included. (Limit 8 students)
