Hope you all had a wonderful Easter? I fel like we are moving in the right direction now, towards warmer days and sunshine!
We have lots planned at the Center - hope you can make it to join us soon at an event or class!
We have relaxed our mask mandate in line with the CDC. It is now up to you to judge your own level of risk acceptance. We are watching the CDC and the levels of transmission and will act if needed.
Summer Art Camps
If you’ve not taken a look at our offerings this summer, you should get on it! Your child will thank you! We have a huge variety of classes on offer. Some old favorites and some new ones to boot! They are selling fast, so don’t delay!
Adult Classes
We have our monthly Thursday morning paint pour with Sybil Swanson coming up! That is a fun way to spend some time with friends before heading out for lunch! We also have a mixed media and journaling class with Lori Kinstad. Nancy Larson is back on the schedule with an urban sketch and paint class and a series of watercolor skills classes.
Again, these are selling fast! Grab a seat at the table and have some fun!
We are always looking for more art teachers, and our new Education Director, Kris Holtmeyer, would love to hear from you!
Art Fair
The Art Fair, July 16-17th, is being planned. We are now entering the last week for artists to apply for this great summer arts event! Don’t miss out for the chance to share your art with Maple Grove and the surrounding area.
We are also looking for volunteers to help, if interested in that opportunity, please contact, Kristina, our Volunteer Coordinator.

Meet the Volunteers at Maple Grove Arts Center
Last month you “met” Chuck. This month our feature is Kristina Makousky.
Kristina Makousky
Volunteer Coordinator
Kristina holds a Masters Degree in K-12 Visual Arts Education from Bethel University in Arden Hills. She has taught art and outdoor education to a variety of populations of learners around the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.
Kristina is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Maple Grove Arts Center. She is currently a fun loving stay at home mama to her two boys Chuck (3yrs) and Hank (6mo) and teaches art classes at the Maple Grove Arts Center as well as Summer School programs through Intermediate District 287.
Kristina loves the therapeutic benefits that come with making and teaching through the arts and is blessed to be part of the Twin Cities Arts Community.
We are so lucky to have Kristina on our team, finding and training our volunteers for both opening our space and outreach programming!
Want to Get More Involved?
