Seems we’ve got quite the heatwave going on! Today’s weather is a little more bearable. A perfect 80F with a light breeze, is just perfect in my book!
Summer Camps for the younger set, are still in full swing, and we have some great options still available.
Art Fair
The fair took place on arguably one of the hottest weekends this summer so far. We had a blast organizing, and hope that you got the chance to stop by and see some great quality handmade art. If you, or you know anyone, would like to participate next year, please get in touch with Kitty Gillmor, our Art Fair Director.
We also wanted to thank all our wonderful weekend volunteers, who handed out water and booth-sat all weekend! Our partnership with Bitty Kitty Brigade was fantastic! Also, we must not forget our ever-giving space sponsor The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. The support we receive each year from The Shoppes is second to none. All our artists rave about the cool room and the fabulous volunteers.
Summer Art Camps
Camps are running for around another 5 to 6 weeks, there is still time to purchase a fun art event for your child or grandchild. We have some comic drawing classes left, a fun cupcake class and a fun carnival based art activities class.
Adult Classes
We have our monthly Thursday morning paint pour with Sybil Swanson coming up! If you missed July’s, don’t worry, we have another technique planned for August 11th - “Cloud Method”. These paint pour classes are a fun way to spend some time with friends before heading out for lunch! Nancy Larson is back on the schedule with an urban sketch and paint class and a series of watercolor skills classes.
Again, these are selling fast! Grab a seat at the table and have some fun!
We do have three new exciting art teachers joining the fray, with a host of new and exciting opportunities. Keep looking!
We are always looking for more art teachers, and our new Education Director, Kris Holtmeyer, would love to hear from you!
Our Next Shows - The Photography & Monster Shows
The Photography Show is being installed this coming weekend and should not be missed. Opening night is August 11th, 6:30 - 9:00pm at our space. We will have wine and snacks.
The next show scheduled is the Monster Show, with a costume party on October 27th! More details and paperwork will be released shortly.

Meet the Volunteers at Maple Grove Arts Center
Last month you “met” Dan. This month our feature is Kris Holtmeyer.

Want to Get More Involved?
We are always looking for more volunteers and have a page here that details specific opportunities we have available.
Maple Grove Arts Center is a 501c3 organization and we rely on donations to keep going. We are staffed entirely by volunteers.
We have relaxed our mask mandate in line with the CDC. It is now up to you to judge your own level of risk acceptance. We are watching the CDC and the levels of transmission and will act if needed.
