It’s almost time to put away those snow boots, heavier coats and leap for joy! The birds are singing in the trees, and the sun is shining. On a walk this weekend, I saw a pair of swans soaking up the warmer weather.
Summer Art Camps
We have lots to share with you! We have our Summer Camps up and available for purchase. There is really something for everyone here. Seventeen classes offering clay, comic books, street chalking and a great class exploring the older arts of the first American settlers. We have some innovative teachers this year again, Katie Walters, Scott Rolfs and Barbara Alldaffer. All are very experience at teaching children to make it fun, exciting and informative.
Art Fair
The Art Fair, July 16-17th, is being planned. We are still accepting artist applications at our Early Bird pricing until March 11. Get in at this cheaper price! Applications close on May 1st.
We are also looking for volunteers to help and if interested in that opportunity, please contact, Kristina, our Volunteer Coordinator.
The Advocate’s Show
This show is currently up in our space and showcases 30+ pieces of wonderful art, by local artists. It’s well worth a look and might even provide the perfect piece of art for your walls! This show is available until May 12th.
Business of Art
We host lots of great art around Maple Grove too. Have you seen the artwork in Whole Foods, The Government Center, Topline Credit Union and Dunn Brothers? There is some marvelous artwork in all these locations plus our own additional side gallery, The Schroeder Gallery, hosts some amazing work. None of this should be missed.
Upcoming Shows
We have some exciting shows in the coming months. The next one being “Still Serving”, which is an art show with art produced by Veterans. You can see more here about the qualifications to enter.
Student Art Show and Jacob Beneke Scholarship
Another annual event we host each year is the District 279 Student Art Show and we tie this in with our Jacob Beneke Scholoarship Award.
We hope you can make it to the opening on March 23rd at The Government Center.
Applications and guidelines for the Scholarship are available here and it closes on March 11th.
Want to Get More Involved?
We are always looking for more volunteers and have a page here that details specific opportunities we have available.
